MD Botanicals is the modern retail brand of the Maa Danteshwari Herbal group — a three-decade-old certified-organic herb farming and manufacturing operation in the forests of Bastar, Chhattisgarh.
A banker who became the “Herbal King of India”
In 1996, Dr. Rajaram Tripathi left banking to found the Maa Danteshwari Herbal Farms & Research Centre at Kondagaon. Three decades on, the group cultivates ~70 herb varieties with thousands of tribal farmers, pioneered the high-yield MDBP-16 black pepper, and exports across the USA, UK, Europe, the Middle East and CIS countries.
In 2021 the family launched MD Botanicals — led by Apurva Tripathi, honoured as “Woman Agri-Innovator of the Year” — to bring those herbs directly to households as teas, capsules, powders and honey. Honest Ayurveda, rooted in ancient healing.
